Very nice restaurant! The food was amazing, my hubby had the halibut and I had the fillet mignon. The chocolate martini was so good. Excellent service. I even got a birthday card from our waiter! We had cream brulee for dessert!

Best Fries Ever – Absolutely love the fries they serve… The Steak Frite was the reason I came to Pac Grill as I had been Jones-ing for them. They are fried with whole cloves of garlic, rosemary, and thyme which infuses them with a delightful flavor. Best fries ever!

 

Amazing! The restaurant was beautiful. The wait staff was wonderful. The food was to die for. They also cater to gluten allergies and vegans. We got our dessert for free because our waiter thought our meal took to long to get to us. We didn’t think it took too long. We were just enjoying our drink and the relaxing atmosphere! Thank you Pacific Grill! We will most definitely be coming back!

 

Knocked it out of the park – Great food, great service. Cool space. Street parking nearby, but would recommend valet. Halibut was perfectly cooked. We did small plates for appetizers and each one tasted incredible.

 

We had three nights out in Tacoma and three more in Seattle last week during an extended business trip. Pacific Grill was far and away the best and was the most reasonably priced of all six. Well trained staff, pleasant finish out of on old building and superb food. As good as we have found on recent trips to any major metro area.

 

Simply Delicious! An eclectic menu with a selection of uniquely tasting items that should satisfy every palate. The service was attentive, but not annoying. It is definitely quiet enough to have comfortable conversation. Try the fruit tart; nice portion and not too sweet.

 

Excellent as Always We went out to celebrate my husband’s new job. Fast seating, friendly employees, excellent food. Who could ask for more? Love how it’s mostly couples and small groups. Good place to get a sitter and leave the kids at home for a quiet dinner if you’ve got them.

 

Pacific Grill delivers… This is a great restaurant…probably the best in Tacoma. Great food, great service, and prices are fairly reasonable. The menu balances eclectic options and standby favorites, and our meal was fantastic. Thanks Pacific Grill!

 

Tacoma’s place to see and be seen Tacoma may be the grittier cousin to Seattle, but places like Pacific Grill would stack up with the hot spots in San Francisco, LA and Chicago. We had a tasty business dinner there and enjoyed seeing some of Tacoma’s movers and shakers. Recommend you try them out.

 

Excellent awesome oysters, Caesar salad. Very fresh salmon. Loved the William Hill chardonnay. Arranged this reservation for my boss. He is a foodie and loved the place.

Enjoyed Pacific Grill The ambiance of the Pacific Grill was very nice as it is located in and older brick building. Decor was excellent. Service was friendly, personable, and attentive. Food was very, very good. My spouse had the Duck Breast, which was a accompanied by a blueberry sauce. I had the Pork Tenderloin accompanied by cream corn with bacon, jalapenos, and other ingredients. It had a slight Mexican flare to it and the tenderloins were perfectly grilled. We both enjoyed our dinners immensely and we sampled liberally each others plates. We liked it very much and we will return to dine again! Recommended.

 

We celebrated our 25 year We celebrated our 25 year anniversary there. The food, service and dining experience was perfect. The night ended with a special surprise when we were walking out of the restaurant to leave and they stopped us to give us a personally signed “Happy Anniversary” card. That is customer service beyond expectation!!!

 

We were in town for a wedding and had the groom’s family get together at this restaurant. A couple of us had the salmon and being from the East Coast I thought it was like nothing i have ever tried. I went with the waiters recommendation of medium rare and I felt as if it just melted in your mouth. I also enjoyed sampling some of the local brews as I love my beer. The wait staff was incredibly attentive and would always have another drink on the way before finishing the current one if so desired.

 

Appetizer, 3 entrees, 2 salads, and a dessert were all exceptional. There were 5-6 seafood items alone on the menu I considered. The decor and ambiance was top notch, and the service was very good. The value was exceptional for all we ordered. Beer and wine we sampled was wonderful. very impressed. I would come here again for any occasion.

 

Ate lunch at this spot and had the best steak salad I have ever had. I ordered the 1/2 salad and it was huge. Great old building in downtown Tacoma with some limited street parking but parking garages located nearby.

 

This restaurant was absolutely awesome. The pricing was not bad considering the atmosphere of the restaurant and the excellent VIP and personal service we received from the second we walked thru the door til we walked back out. I totally recommend this restaurant. You will not be disappointed

 

I was super impressed with the freshness of the seafood here. I don’t really like oysters on the half shell, but I tried some here because our friends ordered them for the table. They were delicious! (and I would order them again). Our other appetizers were the Faux Gras and the Charcuterie — both very tasty. My main course was the Weathervane Scallops which consisted of 3 giant (2 inches across) Weathervane sea scallops. They were tender and flavorful, and I would order these again in a heartbeat. The next time I’m in Seattle, I will definitely return to the Pacific Grill.

After two nights rough camping, we chose Tacoma as our final night’s destination before heading back to Europe. I’d been to Tacoma many times before, but never to the Pacific Grill. My husband spied it from across the street and we decided to give it a try. It was bustling and busy on a Thursday evening (~730 pm) and we snagged two central seats at the bar. Great place to sit, people watch, and peruse the menu. Well, menus. There was a daily menu, a bar menu, and full dinner menu. Lots to read and worth it. We dined tapas style, ordering a few things and asking them to be presented as they were ready. It was perfect for a small bar space, and we got to sample much of the variety: bahn mi, street tacos, bacon-wrapped dates, risotto balls, smoked steelhead, and mushroom paté. All this washed down with a lovely crisp rosé. The service was nice and friendly, and even though the bartender admitted to not knowing much about wine, he was able to confirm a recommendation from someone in the back and was more than willing to let us try the wine before selecting it. Here’s the most amazing part…small plates are 50% off during Happy Hour…which is basically all day, 11:30 am – 10 pm. It was a very pleasant surprise and we loved it!

 

I was graciously greeted when I entered the restaurant. Since I was dining alone, I was put at a table in the bar area. I had the fish tacos small plate and then the wild rice salad. Both were excellent. My server Jonathan was very polite, knowledgeable about the menu. Happy hour prices are very good. Short walk from the Hotel Murano where I was staying.

 

We are from Atlanta. We flew in Tuesday and my husband’s family flew in last night. They were staying at the hotel right next door and were exhausted and hungry. We walked over to Pacific Grill. We felt a little underdressed, but we didn’t really care we were just hungry. Our waitress was super nice and smiled all the time. She was great at explaining the menu and everything came out perfect. The food was GREAT, the atmosphere was great. We had a really good time.

 

Been to Pacific Grill many times over the past few years, and it never disappoints. The menu has a good selection of entrees, small plates, salads and appetizers. Top quality ingredients and creative flavors have led to consistently good food experiences. If you are looking for a nice place with interesting food, it’s definitely worth a visit. Service over the past six visits has been consistently good.

 

I have really enjoyed this restaurant for the past year. Everything is good here, but the Kale salad is to die for. After eating here last summer I have tried to recreate this salad, I will just have to go back every time I am in Tacoma because I just can’t pull it off. So order Kale salad!

 

This is the place to eat and drink in Tacoma. Don’t even try any other place. For months I have been in Tacoma on business and no other place comes close to what you will find here.

 

So, while visiting Seattle, we stayed in Tacoma at the Marriott. I asked the front desk for the best FRESH seafood place around, and they told me Pacific Grill. I went in with a bit of trepidation as it is attached to the hotel, and thought they probably send everyone there. Boy am I glad they did. I had never gave anything 5 stars on Yelp….until this place. We walk in, feeling a bit under dressed in t-shirt and jeans as everyone else was seemingly suit/tie or dress, but did not care, was seated, and quickly waited on. Started with a drink, it was OK, but did not knock my socks off for the $9 it cost. I was having doubts, and as silly as it sounded I ordered fries as an app. WOW, I know what you are thinking….they are fries, no one can mess them up. You are right, but not everyone makes the amazing garlic fries this place has. Large chunks of roasted garlic with bay leaves a hint of something I cant put my finger on…amazing. On to the main course. I ordered the halibut, again a home run. You could tell it was fresh. As a matter of fact our waiter said the only thing they use the freezer for is ice. FULL of flavor, delicious & flaky. At this point I want to move to Tacoma just so I can be a regular here, but I still have desert on the way. An Apple-Rhubarb concoction that will make you think you have died and gone to heaven, If I am ever within 100 miles of Tacoma, I will make it a point to come back.

 

In Tacoma, this is the place to go. Tacoma is not a hub of world-class cuisine, and yet there are some very good places to eat. This is the best I’ve found so far. The seafood is fresh and well-prepared; the appetizers are delicious; and the cocktails are very good. Wine list and service need a bit of work, but for Tacoma, this is *the* place to go!

 

By far our favorite Tacoma restaurant. Last went on a Sunday at 5:00 when they opened & line was 20 people long! We usually go for their great Happy Hour. They have recently changed their menu & my favorite (duck sliders) is no longer offered but has been replaced with tasty salmon sliders. The last few visits I have had the flatbread pizza of the day…most recently was BBQ chicken with fontina, onions & mushrooms. House wines and desserts are good too.
For a nice dinner, highly recommend the cassoulet. Nice atmosphere, great food & attentive service. Happy hour prices provide an excellent bargain but regular dinners are also worth what you pay. In addition, they have a great Rewards Program where you earn points every time you dine, plus receive gift cards for birthdays and anniversaries. Can’t say enough about this place.

 

We had a business dinner here when visiting Tacoma and this place was highly recommended. Very nice and the service was great. Everyone had seafood and it was amazing, from the scallops to the salmon. They make their own Caesar salad dressing and it is wonderful. The steaks looked good as well. The location is great, it is right on a corner, you can’t miss it.

 

My wife and I came here the day before Valentine’s Day because we would be traveling on Valentine’s Day and wanted something special. I have been here before and always enjoy the atmosphere and my favorite is the steak salad at lunchtime. We had halibut dinners and enjoyed them very much. The waiter was knowledgeable and made a great wine suggestion for us. We had a nice evening overall.

 

We were skeptical of the kind of Easter dinner we might experience eating out. Pacific Grill far exceeded our expectations! We had the asparagus soup, the spicy grilled cauliflower and broccoli with a cooling sauce, and the mushroom tourine for appetizers. Each one was seasoned well, classic and flavorful. For entrees we had the halibut, the duck and a steak. Again, all cooked to perfection. The service was outstanding.  Thank you to all who gave their best to these Easter travelers.

 

Not much I could complain about here. Multiple drinks and appetizers followed by entrees, and all were good on a recent date. Server was attentive without overbearing, and left us alone when he seemed to realize it was a date – yet he still checked in appropriately on occasion. We were there over 3.5 hours and we never felt rushed or ignored. All the food was either very good or excellent. One of the appetizers had us moaning – and how often do you do that over broccoli and cauliflower?

 

Excellent personal service, carefully selected wine list, tremendous scallops, very good steelhead. Everything from reservations to seating to advice from the wine steward was handled professionally.

We find the Pacific Grill to be a nice place to have appetizers and drinks with friends. I also like going for lunch when I have a client to impress. The décor is beautiful with great art pieces.

 

Amazing food and staff! We were on Vacation and our friends told us about this Amazing Restaurant. They were spot on RIGHT! The Food and Staff was the Best in the NorthWest!

 

Everything, and I mean everything, was delicious. I ate here four nights in a row! I just had to try everything on their veggie / vegan menu but their garlic fries were AMAZING and so was the cauliflower steak. Great bar, specialty drinks and martinis in particular were really good. Prices are very reasonable. Service was really good. I’d like to try everything on their menu!

 

My sister, mother and I enjoyed the Pacific Grill on a Friday evening prior to taking in a show at the nearby Pantages Theater. We could not have enjoyed a better meal. We enjoyed a local Willamette Valley Pinot Grigio followed by a sampling of appetizers as well as entrees. The Arancini and crab cake were excellent as a three-bite starter followed by a filet mignon perfectly prepared and local, fresh steelhead. We also indulged in their bread pudding and Almond Roca brownie sundae. You cannot go wrong. The atmosphere is simple and warm and the customer service from hostess to wait staff cannot be beat. Make a reservation, spend some time perusing the menu and enjoy a delightful evening.

 

After a day of eating, we all ate pretty light and so we had salads – they were great and the service was excellent. I had the BLT salad and it was really superb – the bacon was some of the best I’ve eaten and the salad greens and produce were very fresh. The dressing was light and tasty as well. Great reports from my wife as well. Nice, modern, appealing decor. Not at all over the top. Highly recommended.

 

Very comfortable and classy restaurant. The service is superb and second only to the quality of the food. A bit pricey but definitely worth it for a special occasion. I recommend this restaurant to friends and family from out of town.

 

Best Bar Menu! If you can, sit in the bar…the tables and chairs are very comfortable and are situated in front of the huge windows overlooking the comings and goings of downtown. They offer a very generous menu in the bar which is 50 percent less than if served In the dining room. The food is wonderful and the atmosphere inviting and unhurried 🙂

 

Gordon Naccarato has had restaurants in LA and Aspen and arrived in Tacoma to be close to family and to help lift the level of cuisine. We met him after an excellent dinner – a seafood pasta and an order of mussels and the sauces were incredible. Make sure you order bread to sop up any sauces because you will want to. Lots of great seafood dishes, small dishes that you can spread around and try in variety and super delicious desserts. The display of the food is wonderful and the wine list is quite fine. There is an active bar crowd and use the valet parking.  Anyway, the Pacific Grill is a must!

 

Great place for business dinner. Our host booked private room for our group of 10-12 people. Excellent selection of starters. I had some fresh oysters, which were really very good. Good selection of wines. I had an Argentinian malbec with my duck cassoulet which was delicious. Others enjoyed a variety of mains including a scallop dish that was impressive. Many of us tried the desserts which were all quite good.

 

Pacific Grill is one of the South Puget Sound’s most consistently excellent and most sophisticated of restaurants. Easily found right at the corner of 15th and Pacific Avenue in Tacoma, it is more modern than the “old school” El Gaucho (and more reasonably priced as well). I’ve never had a bad meal at Pacific Grill, and I’ve never had anything even resembling bad service. Menu changes seasonally, with a nice mix of choices. The small soups are excellently made and consistently good, there’s a nice range of salad and sandwich choices, and the main course menu, while not huge, always offers nice options and every one of them is good.

 

We were driving around downtown and saw Pacific Grill, but assumed we couldn’t get in… luckily we stopped in and were seated very quickly. The menu was challenging — in the sense that there were so many items we wanted to try, we had a difficult time making our choices. The room is lovely, and our service was very good. Prices were very reasonable for the quality of the meal and we will definitely return next time we are in town.

 

Traveling through the area, we opted for 24 hours in Tacoma. I wanted to find a seafood restaurant and the reviews made this place sound great. It was all true. We had oysters to start – they were fresh and sweet. Then manilla clams made the classic way with wine, onion, parsley – perfection! Next we had a chicken dish and a seafood pasta. EVERY bite was fantastic. The decor is lovely, service was excellent and friendly, the pacing of the courses relaxed. All around we had a delightful time at Pacific Grill.

 

Pacific Grill is top notch every time. The service is first class. The food is delicious and portioned perfectly. The wait staff knows their trade, they know what I’m talking about when I ask for Gluten Free, and the menu’s are clearly labeled for Gluten Free and Vegan.

 

This place was fantastic! Super friendly staff and the tilapia was incredible. For dessert I would recommend the Blondie/Brownie topped with almonds, ice cream, and caramel sauce. Our waitress, Diane was also such a big help on what to do in Tacoma. I would highly recommend asking for her, you won’t be disappointed!

 

Wow, went to Happy Hour, sat at bar, had awesome food and drinks! Love this place and cannot wait to go back. Met some great people just chatting.  Very friendly place.

 

Had the best ribeye of my life here. It’s an upper scale fine dining restaurant  without the uptight older crowd you would find at say Stanley and Seaforts.   Also wasn’t outrageously priced like El Gaucho.The staff was professional and friendly, the menu was seasonal, local, and unique. My favorite fine dining restaurant.

 

One of the best Cuban sandwiches that I have ever had.  I’ve had them in Miami, these stack up well…

 

Delicious food!! Interesting atmosphere… fine dining with a laid back feel. Faux Gras and Beef Carpaccio are excellent as is the basic Steak Frites!! WOW.. love it! Can’t wait to go back. Try the Corpse Revivor for a unique beverage.

 

Great service and amazing food. Had the steak frites best steak I’ve had in a long time. Parking was tough to find but was worth looping around the block 4 times.

 

Everything about dining out is going right with this place. Greeted by friendly people and a warm atmosphere.  Our server, Murphy, was fantastic! The food was amazing, but this place has the service to back it up.

 

This is my “go to” restaurant for business lunches in Tacoma.  The food is always great and the wait staff are attentive w/o being disruptive.  They have an amazing cobb salad!!!  I go here a lot during the week because I can walk from my office.

 

This is THE best fine dining restaurant in the South Sound. The menu is diverse & interesting & it’s hard to choose from the amazing steaks, fresh seafood & even vegetarian entrees!  Every dish is so layered with amazing flavors you can tell this world class chef is passionate about food. His dessert chef is incredible & it would be a mistake not to try one of her addicting creations. The lounge/bar has a fantastic atmosphere & the best happy hour period!

 

My girlfriend and I went out for an evening on the town for a girls night out and we started the evening off with dinner at the Pacific Grill. I definitely recommend a reservation, especially on weekend evenings (we made ours using Opentable.com through Yelp which was super easy).  The ambiance is very upscale and personal which we thought was great. The food all looked amazing – I had a delicious cut of steal-head that was cooked to perfection and my friend had lobster tail…yum yum!!
Out waitress was wonderful and very accommodating and let us know that because they felt it took a bit to get out entree’s that they wanted to buy us both dessert. We were so full that we decided to take them up on a Julia Childs brownie sundae w/ white chocolate ice cream and caramel drizzle to share…delicious!!  I will soon be back w/ my fiance’ for a romantic dinner…just the two of us 🙂 Love Love Love this place!!!

 

Truly, my favorite restaurant anywhere. The staff, the experience, the food, the wine, the atmosphere. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

 

My wife and I don’t get to Tacoma much, but the Pacific Grill may change that.  We loved the ambiance, creative menu, outstanding service and delicious selections.  Had the faux gras, onion rings, tuna poki and the Asian chicken salad.  All were well above average and the tuna poki was on par with the stuff we get every year in Maui.  Faux gras was exquisite, great texture and flavor.  The Mr. Price was a strong and creative cocktail, gin and scotch with a piece of orange zest.  Loved it.   House wines were great selections.  What else can I say, check it out and take advantage of the generous happy hour, seems like it is pretty much always on in the bar.  Highly recommended!

 

Was in town for a work conference, opted out of eating the “catered” Quiznos, and decided to meet my friend here instead! I had the Cuban sandwich. OMG it was delicious!! I’ve never had one before, and my oh my it was good! The cheese, the meat… perfection! The homemade chips were good too!  I had to brag to co-workers about what a fantastic lunch I had, and they all commented on how awful the “catered” lunch was. Soggy sandwiches. Ha! I will be back again, it was delicious!!

 

This was an excellent surprise! Tacoma, WASHINGTON is now on my sites for leisure visits, not just work. I am so happy to have found Pacific Grill. I felt like I was in a high end restaurant in Manhattan. 5 stars for the decor and ambiance. Love the selections for wine and starters. I had the beet salad. So GOOD! The main course was Thai Mussels. EXCELLENT. My hubby had the salmon. His was gone before I could get a taste so that meant he loved it. We had the Bread Pudding for dessert. I wish we would’ve ordered two bread puddings though sharing is caring, and probably best, or I would’ve made a piggy of myself.
